OUR SERVICES AND FEES
OUR SERVICE IS BASED ON THE RIBA PLAN OF WORK
This sets out what clients should expect from their architect.
We charge our fee on a % of the estimated cost of the scheme and finally, at the same % on the cost of the finished job. The fee will vary from about 14% to 17.5% on works involving existing buildings, buildings in conservation areas and listed buildings, but will be lower % for new build on a clear site......

We will quote you a fixed fee for a specific task, however, each job needs careful consideration. If we think you may need to consider a contingency sum, say for a complex planning application, we will always tell you at the outset.
OTHER CHARGEABLE SERVICES
SURVEYS
A measured survey is required unless the client can provide full detailed drawings. We will provide an estimate for this. Our designs will be based on this, and survey drawings must be submitted for planning applications.
HOURLY RATES
For the concept and design of schemes, plus anything in excess of the RIBA Plan of Work, we charge at our hourly rate of £95.00 per hour. For drawing and survey work, we charge at £65.00 per hour
PARTY WALL AWARDS
May be required by neighbours and for these we usually charge at the of £400-£500 per neighbour, or as based on RICS rates.
EXPENSES
Additional cost such as postage, printing, copying of drawings and travel
VAT
VAT is charged on fees and, where applicable, on expenses
INVOICES
Are submitted during or on completion of each stage and our terms are payment within 14 days
OTHER CONSULTANTS FEES
If structural alterations are required, you need to budget for a Structural Engineer to provide drawings and calculations. These details are required for Building Regulation Approval and for the contractor. On a larger job, we would recommend retention of a Quantity Surveyor for initial estimates, and cost planning through the job. All consultants are retained directly by the client
